I was driving home Sat morning around 2 am when a deer decided to cross the highway. I had it in cruise control minding my own business when all of a sudden my wife screams deer and not dear, next thing I saw was this deer in the air after I hit it. A piece of the rubber gasket from the hood was flapping in the wind and my wife thought it was the deer leg so I stopped. Looked at the damage it did to the front and smoke was coming out and coolant was leaking. The whole front end got pushed in almost to the engine. Now I have to pay my deductible and my insurance is going to go up. I wonder if I should trade it in after it gets fixed. I will post pics after I get it uploaded. Thanks for listening.

Make sure you get the insurance adjuster out to look at the car while the deer fur is still there. Good thing about a deer collision is that it is charged to your comprehensive insurance, not collision. In many cases that means a smaller deductible, and less chance of a rate increase. It's still no fun. ![Frown](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
This time of year is the "rutt", the deer mating season, time to be particularly wary, especially just after dusk. The deer have one thing on their mind, and it isn't watching where they are going.
