2nd Generation IS Views
Anyone notice how ugly the back view of the 2nd IS look?
Looking from the side it's 8 out of 10 - sleek and sporty.
Looking from the front it's 7 out of 10 - sleek.
Looking from the back it's 4 out of 10 - chubby.
Anyone have the same feelings? In the 3rd IS, Lexus should consider making the back wider.

Say what? You want to make the back wider but you think the current one is 'chubby'? Isn't that 'more chubby'?

It has been noted by some car design critics that the rear 3/4 view makes the rear wheel look small due to the oversized rear/trunk size.
However, it's only an illusion. The car is very well proportioned. I believe it's the best example of L-Finesse...

Love the IS rear. It has the nicest, most proportioned lines of any sedan in my opinion. The rear end was one of the biggest contributors to my purchase. Where other manufacturers go wrong is cutting down the rear to the point the car doesn't look "fast." How do you create a fast look? You have a low, sloped-down hood and front, with a rising side profile leading to a high trunk. That's the image of something ready to pounce or take-off. IS has this look. A example of the complete opposite would be the Infiniti J30 and 1998 model Nissan Altima.
