Default Nav version question. Hoping to get rid of pressing "I Agree"

Hi,

I searched but didn't really see an answer one way or the other. I may have missed it so I apologize in advance.

My current nav is v6.1. I believe v7.1 eliminates the need to press "I Agree". It goes away on its own. I need that

There is a person in my city that will sell me what he claims is the v7.1 disk, non hybrid. He upgraded his 06 IS with it, his now says v7.1, but claims he still has to press "I Agree". Could that be because of the firmware on his 06 nav and not a product of the DVD? I'd hate to purchase the DVD and not get rid of the "I Agree" hassle.

Thanks

With the 7.1disc you don't have to press the I AGREE anymore.

So if he claims his 06 250, which he says displays v7.1, still makes him press "I Agree" he is lying about having the v7.1 DVD?

How do I determine if it is really v7.1?

Thanks

Not sure how you check what version by looking at the disc, haven't seen it. But when the car is on, push menu, and then map dvd I think on top. It'll tell you wat version it is. Mine says 7.1 and have no I Agree button.

So assuming the guy is telling the truth, what could be causing him the issue of still having to press "I Agree"? Could it be that he has an 06?

Thanks

No. He's not running the 7.1 firmware. It is possible to run the 7.1 maps with the earlier firmware and retain the software override feature, but you will have to press "I agree" every time. Mine is set up this way.

NO!!! The year of the car has nothing to do with that. Every time you load a new firmware disc it will automatically update all your navi.

Ok, I sent the guy another email to see if he is using the software override feature.

For what he wants to charge me I'm thinking of buying it and trying. Worse case, I get updated maps and still have to press "I Agree". I won't be happy but it's not that expensive of a risk.

Thanks
