Maintenance menu on 6.1 and 7.1 is "Press display", then in the display window, upper left, lower left, upper left, lower left, upper left, lower left.

There is NO override button in this menu though...

The Menu, Volume, top left, bottom left, top left, bottom left is the override menu, and is only present in 5.1. Have you tested 8.1 yet?

^ I Can't see them (Lexus) bringing the manual over ride option back in the 8.1 version..

i have 8.1 on my gs350 (08, upgraded from 7.1) and i don't recall seeing the override menu at all

just tested on my 08 gs350 upgraded to 8.1. the diagnostic menu doesn't have override menu. the volume page override menu is not available at all.

personally i think the 09 with 8.1 would have the same case?

You need to touch on the INSIDE of the display bars... So, when you press "DISPLAY" and the black bars appear at the top and bottom of the screen with the display controls, you need to press upper left, lower left INSIDE the area between the black bars

i didn't explore everything, but of the items i checked, updated map is pretty much the difference i can tell

bluetooth, no you still have to select user

Just saw this thread.

There would be no reason that you couldn't make a 5.1 loader with 8.1 dvd. Just like the thread on how to do it on the 5.1 loader with 7.1 data. Find that thread, follow the instructions and find you a friend with the 8.1 disc.
