Sup everyone! Ever since I got my car, I been hearing some weird sounds coming from my dashboard. I dont know what it is, but I'm thinking it maybe just that its a new car and its just settling in or something. Does anyone else have the same problem? At first I thought it was the intake or exhaust that was making the cracking sounds but these sounds happen way before I did any mods to the car.

This is a problem that's been discussed before.
I have it as well, but don't consider it particularly bothersome when my dash "pops"

I don't think there's anything wrong with the car, but perhaps someone can chime in here

My dashboard made a similar sound last week. It's to the left of the steering wheel close to the vent . I pressed on it and it makes kind of a squishy sound. I was going to take it to the dealer (08 with 11k miles) but it went away a few days later after i kept pushing on the area. If it comes back I will take it in

Thanx for the replied guys!!! I have about 4500 miles and its time for a oil change, so I'm going to ask the dealership to check out the noise also. I thought it would go away but I heard it rite now when I warm up my car WEIRD!!!

Hey Phil you want to hook up at a starbucks and have my take a listen too it? I have a rattle in center speaker grill. I am wondering if that might be cause it.

I have the same problem as well...I brought my car in for this problem, they put some sort of strip by the edges of whatever that's behind the dash. The sucky thing is that the problem is still there every now and then and Lexus is not willing to take care the problem "again" since they warranty it already.

I have it too on my '08. It does not happen often and it does not bother me.

Dunno about you guys but nasty sounds from the dashboard is a widely known problem among european IS owners. Some people tried to reassemble the dashboard and stick some tape at joints at a dealer but it didn't solve the issue (in a week max the sound comes back) so just forget it and make the music louder

I had the same thing.... theres a TSB for it.
Take it to the dealer, they will replace the clips for the dashboard.

hey I'm going to the Fresno dealership Thursday morning around 8am for my 5k maintence. You wanna meet that early.. lol.. i'm still working rite now, so no starbuck for me.

Thanks bro, I have the dealership take a look at it for sho!! Yeah almost 5k miles and i'm still hearing it, and i got the car with 10 miles on it.
I'll let you guys know how it turns out tomorrow morning!

Phil I had my TSB done and it last about a month. Just for the heck push down on the center speaker grill and drive and see if it still does it. I forgot do you have a ML on yours?

I am already at work at 8am. have to fight for a park space in the morning!

Yeah I tried pushing on the dashboard before and still made that sound.. But I dont really anymore, maybe its just common..
