Default Will a mountain bike fit??

Does anyone know if a mountain bike will fit in the trunk, with the front wheel off?? Sorry if this has already been asked it's a pita to search on here

I can get a road bike in the trunk with the front tire off- with a little bit of work. It sure would be a lot easier if the back seat folded down though.

it really depends on the bike they range in various sizes... I do not think most bikes will fit well. If you use a bike often, I suggest you buy one of those foldable mountain bikes instead of using bike mounts

Yea I put mine in, but I take off both tires. So easy.

Both wheels off is the only way to make it fit in trunk.

Roof rack? They're ~$500 from a good company like Thule.

+1. or yakima. if removed and cleaned properly they will not damage the paint on your car. best solution IMO

Thanks for all the advice, I am just getting one for Christmas and was wondering if I was gonna be able to get it home. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to go the rack route whether it be roof or trunk.
