Default Pics of painted rear calipers with Lexus decals

Last night I painted my rear calipers and added decals ordered through www.bombgrafx.com. Here's the final product after four coats of Duplicolor gloss black and three coats of Duplicolor clear coat applied after the decals were put on:

What color is the decal? The picture makes it look pinkish orange. Will the paint you used stand up to the heat? I've been thinking about doing this to mine but not sure what type of paint to use.

The decal is red. Sorry about the poor pic quality. The Duplicolor Caliper Paint can stand temperatures up to 500 degrees. The clear coat is actually engine enamel that also stands temperatures up to 500 degrees. These paints are made just for these purposes and will stand up to the heat and elements.

Well done. Looks like your decals and springs are color-matched.

It took me about 5 hours for the rear and about the same for the front. That includes the time to let each coat set before applying another. After the final clear coat was applied, I put the wheels back on and let it dry overnight.

Nah, it really isn't that difficult. You just have to get the right paint and make sure everything you don't want painted is masked off. Clean the caliper with brake cleaner thoroughly and then paint away! It just takes attention to detail and patience in between coats of paint.

As Steve Carell says in the movie Get Smart, "I set that up!"
