Let's add one or so second on every cars out there... Including school and church bus and trucks. What does a church bus run in 0-60? Is it 18 seconds? Let's add 1.5 second on that. That would be 19.5 seconds. Oh yeah, hate to bring this up (not against the bmw fans particularly) a 335i 0-60 is now officially 6.0 seconds. What does a bmw 550i run? 5 seconds? Let's add 1 second. That would be about 6 seconds 0-60.

It will definitely be in the low 5's. I wouldnt be supprosed at all if it hits 4.9
Road and Track measured 5.3 seconds on a GS350 AWD.

Are the 3.5L motors tuned differently in the GS versus the IS?

I think you are right, they test on tracks with better grip than on the street and they car rev up to 3000 RPM

You are awesome! Almost like I was commanding an RC car from far away! Thanks for trying for the benefit of the group. Now thanks to your diligent research I will remember not to rev as high next time I try for a quick start on non-racetrack pavement. Who knows, with adjusted 0-60 times of 1 second longer as this thread has suggested maybe we can now rest easy.

the torque comes earlier in the RPM. if you look at the secs for the IS350 it says 277 lbs torque @ 4800 RPM
The GS350 says 274 @ 3600 RPM

the 3 lb difference in torque is impossible to detect.

haha, no problem man. When i went to the track this summer I got a 13.6 launching at 1500 rpma. then i tried to go higher on the RPM and launch at 2000 and i spun like crazy and got a 14.2.
I have only street tires though and they are the stock ones. with something better you might be able to launch a lil higher.
the track is great. it is NHRA and its a very good track

yea, if i power brake i spin. I think the bridgestone tires that come with the car stock are crap. that is why i hit a friking curb yesterday.

is there any other car that is that quick 0-60 with around the same power and weight? it just amazes me to think that a automatic car with 300hp that weighs 3500lbs can run 4.8 0-60..
we should make a thread with all cars that run 4.8 0-60

example:
'08 charger srt8 ........425hp 420tq 4160lbs. 4.8 0-60 +119hp +143tq +630lbs.
'07 ford shelby gt500..500hp 480tq 3920lbs. 4.9 0-60 +194hp +203tq +395lbs.
'07 aston martin db9..450hp 420tq 3881lbs. 4.9 0-60 +144hp +143tq +326lbs.(v12)

Good info, GS is specifically tuned for the extra weight and drag of AWD.

Rather irrelevant to any particular car on any particular fuel blend at any particular altitude and temperature on any particular road with any particulalr tires on any particular road. There are no absolutes, only ballparks.

Best 0 -60 mph time will be when it is driven off a cliff. Only works once, though.

there are plenty of cars that run faster 0-60 times than one that drove off a cliff

he is modded up though, I don't think you'll get 4.9 consistently bone stock. key word consistently. for those of you who have reading comprehension problems who may think i am hating.
