Default thoughts...

Thanks for the detailed walkthrough, just completed mine.

Most frustrating parts of this whole project:

#1) Putting the door panels back on without massacring the tweeter and getting that stupid plastic door panel piece in its hole up top.

#2) Fishing the wire from the passenger side to the driver side,
and

#3) Finding which wire was the medium sized light green and red, since there are 2 pairs that fit that color description. Get the soldering gun and shrink tube out!

Recommendations:
Take your time, I split the project up over the course of 2 half days.

Use shielded clips male/female or bullet connectors to connect the led mirror case wires to the wire exentions; the stock "harnesses" are a joke. Insulate any exposed wire openings and the LED inner case with RTV Silicone as a precaution for water intrusion. Prevent wire rub in any fender holes or door frame holes by using black snake wire tubing.

You dont need to create an new hole in the black door bootie where the wires go from the door into the car. Remove the black booty where it sets in at both ends, remove any electrical tape that is keeping it in place, squish it down into the center of the wires, and you can fish your wire from one end out the other end if you use a coat hanger carefully as to not scratch the existing wires. Do this by taping the end of the coat hanger several times with electrical tape as a padding and attach your led wire.

The problem with creating your own hole in the door booty to run the led wire: possibility of a pinched/frayed wire, water intrusion, non stock look.

If you do it right, you wont have to worry about it for years to come.

.............and yes they do look good. Highly recommended!

I just wanted said to thanks to MISTER T. this thread rocks and Nigel Jmdparts for fast delivery

I ordered my LED Side Mirror on sunday and today i spend 4 hrs installing them

here my tips
  • Make sure you window in down
  • I took the hole panel and the speaker out that made my work easy.
  • I removed the side mirror to take a part on my bench and installed the complete mirror no hangin pieces that can damage your car.
  • If your window switch is flashing (driver side) & no working properly just keep your switch up for a couple seconds.
  • I was soo lucky with wires, the green and red are the same size
  • Holly crap my ride looks really good

HERE IS BEFORE i will take the final Pic. tomorrow

Ordered mine for the LX470 and about to start on it. I have printed some wiring diagrams to locate the turn signal wires. Look like Green and Yellow for RH and Green and Black for LH. Cross my fingers. Anyone else already performed this on an LX470? I will give it a shot. These new ones have the puddle lamps, so I need to tie into the illumination dome light or somewhre where it will stay one while my running board light stay on, does anyone know where I can tie into that wire on an LX?

Do you have pics of how you tapped into it? Im trying to do the mod myself and I got these clips that came with the LED signal covers. Any help would be appreciated.

This is the only picture I have and here you can see that I already tapped the red LED mirror wire into the green wire and covered it electrical tape. Also, you can see that the jacket of the red wire being held by my finger is already stripped from using the wire stripper and is ready to be tapped into. Once you've determined the correct wires to tap into, you can use the clips that came with the kit instead of electrical tape to connect wires.
