My 08 is250 does it too. But you get used to it and learn when to accelerate so you dont get that "stalling" feeling. I usually dont get that feeling as much anymore. My mom and sisters 05/04 camry does it too. Weird.. must be a toyota/lexus thing.

Actually a lot of cars do this. It is because the ECU is learning your driving style right now.

Same here, my 09 250awd is doing the exact same thing when she changes gears. I feel the slight choke on every gear change, but it is alot more noticeable on the 1st and 2nd.

I have less than 1.5k miles on her right now, when do you think the ECU will finally learn my driving style? I usually drive during rush hour bumper to bumper, and this choke is getting kinda annoying...

IIRC it is under 2k miles. You can also use your ECT PWR button to force faster shifts.

It doesn't ever really stop. I have ~40k on my car, and I still get that feeling sometimes. You just gotta adapt your driving style to minimize it.

I have an 07 and it does the same (approximately 22000 miles). If I remember correctly it happens when you try to accelerate a bit when it's not in gear and it hooks the gear from the added rev. I notice it when I'm in mid-shift (gears still changing) during downshift then it chokes back up to a higher gear. Completely normal. Once it adapts to your driving it's minimalized where it's unoticable unless you change your driving suddenly.

For future reference if you start to drive your car like on the track, the shifts change also. Typically on normal cruising it'll be in 6th gear at 40mph but under heavy use (like in a race) it'll stay as long as 60mph before 6th gear or even longer depending on conditions.

i get that soccer ball sound when i come to a stop also. probably just another quirk from this car. and ect stands for electronically controlled transmission, and the ect-pwr/snow button is right next to the trac off button under the engine start button.
