which tires should i get?

Michelin
After working at 4 different tire stores the answer is always the same Michelin
Buy the Michelin tire that best fits your car and your requirements. It may be the most expensive tire in that size but over the life of the tire ( if properly maintained) it will be the best tire, you will love them! The best way to keep your car as new is upgrade it never downgrade. Tires are the top component for changing the way your car drives. It's the only part that touches the road

Everyone on here is going to say ps2s..
Just get what you can afford. If the turanzas didnt bother you, then just replace with those. All 18 inch tires are going to weigh within 1lbs of each other.
Personally, I have driven a lot of tires on the IS, heres how i rated them
turanzas (@#%$, horrible, Id use them as a spare only)
potenzas (better, i ran them around the track for a bit and they did ok) if this is your budget then get these
Toyo t1rs I tracked these also and they were great. Myself and others have had bad trammeling though with this tread pattern
sumitomo hzrs ( i am running these right now and so far for the price they are great. actually awesome, but the tread life goes quick)
ps2s (yeah yeah yeah, its like a cult. they are good, i have tracked these also on several different cars. Great tire.. Great if $$$ is not an object. Heck I put those contisports in the same league.)
Basically if you are not tracking your car and just hauling *** around and you want save money, dont get the ps2s.

On my 3000s, I just moved from the Michelin Pilot sports... then onto the Michelin Pilot Sport AS, and finally the Goodyear Eagle F1 AS tires.
IMO, the Eagle F1 AS tires are the way to go. They are cheaper by $100 per tire, and have the longest tread life. They also had the "Strongest" looking shoulder(IE they look the best).
Driving impressions,
Eagle F1s: Have seem slower to respond, but have very good lateral grip. Unfortunately the heaviest tire, which matters a lot in my MT 3000GT with 220HP. Also these tires are noisier(though I dont really care much about noise). Havent had the tire long enough to judge the wear pattern
Pilot Sport AS, lighter tire, good steering response. But it always looked like I had a flat tire, even though they were at 36-38 PSI. They also wore down excessively in the center of the tire, despite being inflated properly.
Pilot Sport, Lightest tire, easily the best tire, in terms of performance. The best steering response, thought I cant remember how good the lateral grip was. Terrible in the snow(duh). Wore down very quickly. Shoulders wore down very very quickly.
Keep in mind that my 3000 has 203K miles. Its been 50K miles since I had the Pilots. The Pilot AS's lasted me 50K, and I just got the F1 AS tires.
Before those tires I had Nitto NT555s(terrible) and Dunlop SP Sport9000s(worst tire I have ever owned)
