thanks
actually i didnt epoxy on a plastic oval. i tried going to hardware stores to look for plastic sheets that i could cut but i couldnt find any. and i didnt want to have to go through the hassle of ordering it online.
what i did was on the back side, i epoxied the space between the cf cutout and the emblem, making sure that the epoxy made contact with both pieces. the good thing is that the epoxy dries clear so for the small gaps in the front between the emblem and cf cutout you aren't able to really see it.
iRock - thanks!

lexitegra - yah the epoxy is pretty rock solid when it cures. so it holds it down great.
brociouz - actually i epoxied the edges of the cf cut out to the edges of the "L" emblem. this is all on the back side. then i attached that whole piece (emblem w/ cf) to the grill insert with 3M tape. yah the area behind the emblem is hollow. i didnt even use that "L" shape plastic thing that came with the grill insert because there was no use for it.
hope this explains it. sorry i should have taken a picture of it before i installed. i may be able to take one though later if you would like.
