your opinion on rebuilt title... should i buy?
So im dying to get an IS350 and this site is not helping me be patient.
But the car is simply out of my budet. Im going to get the '07 but cant afford it until it depretiates around $26k so about 1 1/2 years.
However there is a dealership by my house that just sells rebuilt title cars, and each car comes with a complete list of everything that was fixed and replaced.
Ive seen about 4-5 is350's pass through, and they all go for around $18.5k to $23k heres the one i just test drove and cant stop thinking about. it has less than 7,000miles http://consumerguide.cars.com/go/sea...eadExists=true
All i ever here about rebuilt titles is "run away, "there bad news, "you will always see problems in the future, or the car will never be the same.
but does anybody out there actually have experience with rebuilt title cars?
from all the feedback ive heard so far its like 100% of rebuilt cars will have some sort of problem.
So looking for some feedback from your past experiences with rebuilt title cars, or just your opinion on what you would do?
Should i wait it out till i can afford one with clean title, or by one now with rebuilt title?

Pole Position
If it's a rebuilt title from collision damage, yes, definitely run away, it will never be the same. If the salvage title is from a theft recovery, it might be worth looking into.

ask them for a car fax to see what kind of damage it has been in. I agree with IS350jet if it's been in a collision then run away, and also keep in mind that later down the road if you ever want to sell the car you're going to have a hard time just because it is a rebuilt title

carfax dont always mean jack. Use it as a tool and base on your findings check it out. It could be a simple fender bender sometimes and still give it a rebuilt title. Stay away definately if its been flooded.
Also most financial institutions do not loan on bad title cars.

Frame and water damage are two rebuilt titles you should never touch.
Some theft recovery cars have so much cosmetic damage they are totaled, but those are pretty expensive to rebuild so you won't see much of those.
I'd say stay away.

Wow thanks for the help guys, ive just become upsest with this car and CANT WAIT to own it.
this car had the rear passenger door replaced, and quarter panel fixed.
Yes this very true, i know i would be way happy for about a year, until i realize if i had just waited i could afford a one with clean title.
i guess i'll wait, and in the mean time just save and buy coilovers, rims,lx mode grill and Toms bodykit that way the car will stay stock for about a week
