XenonDepot HID
ok theres probably already a thread of this already but oh well. i was on xenondepot.com looking for hid conversion kits and came across two different types of sets. one is the xtreme digital HID conversion kit and the other is the voit HID digital kit. i see that the volt is much cheaper and many people have been getting that one but i haven't heard anything about the xtreme hid kit. it seems like the xtreme hid kit is better. please help. im planning to buy soon.

I have a similar question. I'm pretty much decided on the xtreme 4300k kit and am trying to decide between the regular kit and the Philips bulb kit. are the Philips bulbs really that much better in terms of life/reliability? also, anyone think 4300k xtreme kit just isn't bright enough? would 6k (although it emits less light overall but gives off a bluish light) look better for black on black?

Hi,
From a quality standpoint both bulbs are great. You really cannot go wrong with either. Our Japanese made Xtreme bulbs use Philips quartz glass as well. From my experience though, the two main differences between the two are that the Philips bulbs are slightly brighter (minimal) and the Philips bulbs will also color shift within 100 hours of use. This means that the Philips bulbs reach color temperatures of approx 4700k once they are fully color shifted. From a light output standpoint, stick with 4300k if you want the brightest possible output. You lose approximately 20% of useable light output going from 4300k to 6000k.
