Default Should I use Lucas Oil Stabilizer or not?

My car has almost 53000 miles and is nearly due for an oil change. I have used Lucas oils on another vehicle for about 100,000 miles and it has been superb. My other vehicle now has nearly 230,000 miles and the engine/transmission runs like a champ. I am contemplating whether or not to start using Lucas Oil Stabilizer in my 2IS.

Please chime in with any [I]constructive[I] opinions that you may have.

No. Not necessary. No oil additives recommended by Lexus.

Only people that I have known that use that product are truck drivers (and I mean big trucks that haul stuff, not pickup trucks) and they have had good experiences with the product. But you don't need it.

DO NOT DO IT!

it will cause catastrophic damage to your engine resulting in failure. not to mention it will blow up!

I agree, therefore a waste of money in the Lexus.

Prove it? No proof in the Lexus anyway. Lighting dollar bills for fun should be as effective.

it will make the oil thicker...therefore you'll waste more gas?

Looks like it would coat better if you ever played with those gear demonstrators. But you're hand cranking them at low speed. At high speed (like through an oil pump), you, it causes the oil to froth up. In other words, DO NOT use it!

It's called cavitation and you can easily make the Lucas cavitate on those hand spun cranks in auto stores.

Here is a explanation of cavitation and what it does.

I heard it makes the oil like 40w-1200(or something really heavy n thick). Quite simplely dont bother using it.
