09 IS250awd bumpy ride?
#16
I got an '07 250 AWD a few days ago & I noticed yesterday that the ride was very bumpy & I could hear a lot of road noise. I had just filled the tires before I went out to the recommended 35psi front & 38 back too. It was very upsetting to me, since when I test drove it it was smooth.

The IS has a very firm ride (compared to, say, a BMW 3 series). The AWD also has a higher unsprung weight than the RWD which won't help the ride quality. So it won't be a boulevard cruiser! I agree the selection of tires and tire pressure will be very important in determining the ride quality.

My 08 is bumpy too but not as bumpy as my 03 Matrix XR with the S Tech springs so for me it's fine. If you think that the IS is bumpy you should try a Mini with the sport suspension

I am very sure it's your tires. I have '06 IS250, come stock with Dunlop SP5000. Exactly how you described it, bumpy.
I persuaded dealer to exchange the tires with another IS250 -> Bridgestone RE92. These tires are crap, but much smoother.
At 25,000mi, I replaced with Michelin Pilot A/S, plus road force balancing. The car is now mirror smooth. Absolutely not bumpy anymore. It is still firm (potholes etc), but on smooth road, it is very smooth. Before the Michelins, even on smooth roads, I feel the ride bumpy.
Not a cheap fix, though.
