Default 09 IS250awd bumpy ride?

Hi i've had my 09 250awd for about a month now, and i've noticed it is kinda bumpy. I feel every little imperfection on the road, is this normal?

I remember I test drove an 08 before I got the 09, and the 08 was extremely smooth, I could not feel the road at all. However in the 09, i feel everything.

Is this how all 09s are?

My car has the premium package with navigation on 17s, not the luxury. I think the 08 I tested had the same package as the 09 I'm driving now.

If I get 18" rims, wouldn't the bumps get worst?

Yes, but handling will improve.

Check your tire pressures and adjust to spec.

What was your last car, something soft riding like a Cadillac or Lincoln town car maybe?

Lux Pkg would not change the ride. I don't think they made any changes from 08 to 09 that would affect the ride.

Check the air pressure in the tires.

well I remember they said there will be suspension changes in '09 models,
but I also remember Javy testing the '09 when they first came out and didn't notice any changes ...

My 07 AWD was quite bumpy, it is vehicle design. You have to sacrifice ride for handling and it is worth it.

You mean traction and not handling.

08 AWD was bumpy as well. Getting 18" would make it bumpy, you would want a bigger sidewall not a smaller one.

Traction is a factor in the overall handling abilities of the car.

I'll make you an offer you can't refuse. Take my 07 and I'll take your 09

Yes, but I won't go into wheel torque transfer, lateral grip and road conditions.

The factory OEM tires make a huge difference. Maybe the car you test drove had different tires than what you bought. I know one of the IS250 AWD's that I tested was bumpier and didn't handle as well as the one I bought. The test car had Dunlops (I believe). Mine has Bridgestone Potenzas. Though both were the standard 17 rims, the dealer said the 2008's came with either tire, but the Bridgestone was the preferred tire.

I got a 09 IS250 RWD loaner for a whole day yesterday and I don't find it bumpy at all.
It has tight suspension compared to my old GS with L-turn drop.
