Missing key door
On Friday I stopped by dealer for a car wash, after a hour & half wait, I drove home. Once I got home I noticed the little cap on the door handle where the metal key fits was gone. I don't know if the car wash had anything to do with it but it does seem odd. I will go back tomorrow and ask them about it. Does anyone know what the cost is for that part? Are they pre painted? I think that is a bad design by Lexus. There should be some sort of attachment to the car.

I can't see how it would pop off. It took me forever to figure out how the damn thing comes off and even after I knew how to do it...it took quite a bit of force to remove it.

Thanks for all the input. I'm going back to the dealer at lunch for a talk. I wonder if someone who needed one just pried it off. It looks like crap so I need to do something quick. At least I now know how to use the key the old fashioned way.

Thats my plan. I don't think we are talking about a great amount of money but I'll try to one at cost or maybe free.

Never make that assumption when talking about parts for luxury cars. The smallest piece can sometimes have ridiculous prices. They should replace it for free if it was lost in their wash system. Personally, I never have the dealer wash my car. That is something I do myself. I don't need the dealer's porters to wash/dry my car with dirty rags that have fallen on the ground, or worse. I couple of dollars in quarters and I'll do it myself at the local coin wash. Takes fifteen minutes and I'm in control of the washing and drying.

it can pop off by accident. its not that hard to pop it off either.. someone may have messed with it then tried to put it back on but didn't properly attach it all the way making it easier to fall off or something when you shut the door. who knows! get the dealer to get you a new one! lol
