^ +1.

The OP is in CA. Unless he is up by Lake Tahoe, what's the big deal?? 50 degrees and he can't go out and get in the car and drive away without complaining about the C-O-L-D ? Puh-lease.

LOL at CAers and the "cold".

Set the temp to 72 and hit auto. Drive as soon as possible.

I haven't had a block heater on either of my Lexus cars but I sure loved the one I had on my Mercedes -- once I started looking, I found AC outlets everywhere I could plug into at hotels, parking garages, etc.

Block heaters are shown on the Canadian Lexus website: http://www.lexus.ca

Metro Lexus/Toyota in Victoria BC can sell you one and you could have it installed locally: http://www.metrolexusvictoria.com/index.htm Metro has an export license and has provided excellent service when shipping to me here in Kansas.

I don't spend much time driving in really cold climates anymore but I sure would like to have a block heater in my LS right now -- forecasted low for tonight in Des Moines IA where I'm headed today is -10° F with a high tomorrow of only -1° F. Brrrrrr.
Actually it can dip to the high 20s low 30s in california (usually mid to high 30s though in the late evenings and mornings)...

But anyways I say just blast the heater and drive the car...

not to be a jerk but did your corolla have leather seating? if not then thats probably why you feel it colder in the lexus. 3 minutes is not that long of a wait....

Seat heater and drive it briskly to warm up the engine, and you'll feel comfort in no time.
oh, and dress warmly hehe

Last night was fricken cold! it was 38 degrees and i could barely feel my feet. the heat took 5 minutes to actually get my warm. I put it to 90 degrees and High blower but seat warmers FTW

also, when i was up at 7 for work, it was 35 degrees.

Anything below 65 is to cold

You all make me laugh. It was -30 C this morning (-22 degress for all you Americans out there) without the windchill.

Guys, we have an automatic air conditioning system. Turning it to HI heat makes NO DIFFERENCE. The temperature you set on the a/c is the temperature it maintains in the cabin. If you set it to 85, the air coming out of the vents will not be 85 degrees. If the temperature in the cabin is 90, then it will actually be cold air. I never have to touch the a/c controls. The system is always set to 72 and it maintains that temp in the car.

BTW. Tomorrows weather in Chicago is a low of 0 and a high of 3

I hate the automatic setting, i'd rather just do it manually.. and press low, medium or high.
