Here's a discussion of Rain-X vs. PPG Aquapel. Aquapel definitely has more supporters on this page.

So I'm really wondering where you got the information about silicone oils and sulfuric acid. I can see the unspecified clays being silicon based clays, but not silicone oil.
Good, they changed their formula. It looks like they are using clay as their surface abrasive now, unless I am reading this wrong. Some people like to clay their glass, but personally I would not.

I still think, however, that there are better products on the market.

I've been using wax for years on my windshield and windows. I just wax the windows when I wax the car. Works very well and I have not had any issues.

I think wax is an OK solution, but what I've found is that it tends to streak and leave lines as the wax wears in certain spots (i.e. in the wiper pattern). Have you found a wax that doesn't suffer this problem?

i had a recent problem with my factory blades... they werent wiping the water off very well, but that was due to the fact that my right blade overlaped on my left blade because the left side blade **** came loose...

Bought two pairs of the Rain-X Latitude blades off of Amazon for $23.80 a set, delivered.
Two 22" & two 16" blades.

I've tried tons of different wiper blades on my previous cars and found that the OEM Toyota/Lexus ones worked the best. On my Integra I pretty much matched the size of the blades that our ISx50's come stock with. Apply some Aquapel every 3-6 months and you should have no problem keeping the windshield clean.
