I signed a lease for what I thought was $600 a month.. I live in Ohio. I keep getting bills for $562.06, which is the pre-tax amount (+6.75% tax= 600)... isnt that supposed to be rolled in to the payment? In Ohio I believe it should be.

Lexus paid for the registration and I'd imagine they would not register the car if the tax needed to be paid upfront.... so is this normal or am I just making out with an extra 38 off my bill every month?

Im guessing someone just screwed up on entering the amount in the computer. Should I call to correct it:?

 

Sounds like they do the same in Ohio as they do in CT.

You don't own the car, so you're paying the sales tax as you use it.
Remember there is a residual value, if you paid the sales tax up front you would be overpaying.

If you buy out your lease you will pay sales tax on the residual value

 

i understand that I pay sales tax on the lease payments, not the value of the car... but when I get my bill it does NOT include sales tax ... it should be $600 ($562+tax)... but its missing the tax that should be added to the monthly payment

 

Sounds like a call to the dealers finance mngr might be in order, or a call to Lexus Financial (the number should be on the bill)
