Default Surveillance Camera?

Has anyone installed some form of surveillance camera in their car? If so, what type of camera and how did you set it up?

My car was keyed the second time this month and the sad thing is, it's happening a block away from where I live. I don't hog spots or block anyone's driveway so I really don't know wtf this person's problem is. Luckily they've been really light so I was able to wet sand most of it out. Unfortunately I live in an apt building so I don't have the luxury of installing any home cameras. Saw a couple online that record to flash cards, but I'm not sure how good those are. Also was thinking about one of those wireless cards and leaving a laptop in the trunk to record...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I personally have not used this one but have heard good things about it from friends, I would check it out It seems to have some good reviews and be widely respected on the market

I live in an apartment and have a home camera installed. Thats the upside to paying rent a month ahead in an apartment complex where they can't get most people to pay rent at all: they let me do whatever I want.

More on the subject, you may try looking at Game Scouting Cameras. This was one option I looked at for my car. Depending on how high of quality you want, they can be cheap and effective. Some are motion activated and some can take video also. All run on batteries and almost all are IR equipped.

Personally, I would never leave a laptop in my trunk overnight but then again, I live in a neighborhood where I feel the need to have a camera on my car.

uhh maybe a highly sensitive car alarm, or a close range wireless motion detector so if someone gets really close to your car, you can get up and look out the window. Just an option

I know how annoying it is about your situation.

But I dont think thats going to be the cheapest thing to get, if you cant do anything about it anyways. Small claims is just a waste of time.

Maybe hire a hitman to knock him off...LOL

It's hard to install a surveillance camera in the car unless you put a lot at different angles.

Best solution is to park it in the same spot, and put a camera somewhere else watching over the IS, or just park inside.

Exactly, park in the same spot and try to set something on top of a building w/ possibly battery operated or with a extended antenna that get long range. Thats your best bet.

Dude, I'm sorry to see this happen. Especially to a fellow New Yorker... Its a shame that there are people out there with that much jealousy, but it's reality. I try to hardly park my ride on the street, however some don't have that luxury.

Hope everything gets worked out.
