Tire fitment question..IS350 vs IS-F? on aftermarkets- see inside
I own an IS350 and purchased a set of aftermarket wheels.
The stock rim/tire size is 18x8, 225/40/18 in front, the wheels I bought are 19x8 for the front
I noticed that the stock front wheel/tire on the IS-F is 19x8, and has a tire of 225/40/19
I know that the IS-F sits about 1" lower than the IS350 ...but what I'm not sure of is if the the IS-F fits a 225/40/19 tire in its front wheel well...
are the front wheel wells so different on the two cars that the F will fit a 225/40/19 tire but the 350 will not even if riding on wheels that are 19x8 in front?
or will it ride with no rubbing issues even if dropped on a set of Eibach prokits?
I am aware of keeping the aftermarket tire height within a certain frame of the stock specs to be safe and more sure of fitment---
my question is more so within the real world reality of would it(tire-front 225/40/19) fit with no issue.
Reason is I like the way the IS-F sits on its 19's and the fill on the front tire -fender gap.
I purchased a eibach pro kit to mildly drop my 350 about an .8" in the front so would I be OK with a 225/40/19 in front like the F has? or are the cars that different in the front?
- I am aware one of the preferred sizes is 235/35/19 if you go 19's (19x8 or 19x8.5)
but wanted to know if anyone knows if in the real world would it (the tire at 225/40/19)fit on the 350 running 19x8 wheels.
So its a tire fitment question more than a rim question...
thanks in advance

You have to keep in mind that the IS-F has a slightly wider front end and track than the IS350, and that will of course affect the shape and size of the fender wells.
My IS350 is wearing 245/35/19's in the front (almost just as tall a tire as the IS-F's), and it's on H&R springs - which are some of the lowest springs offered for this car. A little heat gun work took care of the few rubbing issues that I had. The IS350 can wear the IS-F's tire size, especially if you're only on a conservative Eibach drop.

I am running a 224/40/19 in the front with 8" wide rims, but I have the stock springs. The tires do not rub whatsoever. They may rub a bit if you lowered the car.
I am due for new tires, and I am getting 235/35/19, just to fill out the rims more. It looks undersized with 225's.
Also, I am planning on lowering the car shortly.
