Default Please help having problems with iphone 3g and IS250

I previously owned a 2G Iphone and it was synced with my IS250 nav system. I bought a 3G phone and it will not sync. I go to the bluetooth settings on my phone, turn it on and it goes to discovery but it can not pair with my car. The car sees the Iphone under the list of phones in the near area and tells me to input the passkey into the Iphone.

Am I doing something wrong? The Iphone can not discovery my nav bluetooth. I have it on the edge network and the car is on if any of that matters.

shouldn't matter? did you change the password/passkey? If you changed it in the past make sure you are using the right passkey. I don't see what else it could be since its finding your phone and wanting you to enter this? I never change this on any of my cars just for this reason. Keep trying and I am sure you will get it to work.

The same exact thing happen to me, what you need to do is delete the 2g iphone first and then pair the 3g

Do you mean "sync" or "pair"? Very different operations! The iPhone will NOT sync with the Lexus, but it will pair.

Hi,

I just bought a new 09 IS 250AWD fully loaded. I can pair the iphone 3g but i can't get it to sync.

I'm looking for a way to transfer all my contacts to the car as well. Anybody know how to do it for the iphone 3g?

I'm thinking it's probly impossible since iphone 3g doesn't use vcard format to send contacts. Well in fact i don't even think u can send contacts on the iphone 3g. My gf was able to upload her contacts to the car using a vcard method (phone was sony ericsson W580). If i were to use her phone... how do i get the contacts from the iphone3g to the comp then to a sim card to put into her phone????

why do you have to delete the other phone to pair the new phone? You can have more then one phone so that shouldnt matter. I had 3 phones paired up to the IS at one point and never had any troubles.

are your 3 phones all the same model?

maybe the car sees the 3G iPhone as the 2G iPhone and vice versa.

actually 2 of them where BlackBerry's and one was A Motorola. The phone's are paired separately with the car. So the phones being the same shouldnt be a problem. I think mine had different ID numbers if I recall correctly? The only issue I had at times was the system would get confused and not pair up to the phone with them in the car. I dont have the iPhone so I guess anything is possible but I just dont see this being the issue.
