07' sharkfin antenna for nav?
I have an 07 model and was wondering if the shark fin is the antenna for the nav or the AM Radio.

The shark fin antenna is for XM radio only, nothing else.
Though it does look sporty

I thought the fin also is for the GPS... no?

So, if the Nav does not now use the shark fin (as my dealer told me), then what does the Nav use for an antenna?

The nav (GPS) receiver is under the dash somewhere and does not need an outside antenna, no more than a portable nav like a Garmin would need one.

Probably can but you'd have the holes to contend with. The cable on my 2008 is not hooked to anything and the connector and excess cable ty-wrapped to the wiring harness bundle on the front side of trunk.

Oh, and yes it is for the XM radio receiver/adapter that mounts by the power amps in the passenger side of trunk.

Bondo it and sand it down if you plan to never use a shark fin again. If not, why don't you tell the shop to cut the vinyl of the shark fin and just paint the shark fin black to match or CF

It looks more flush without the shark fin. I'm going to see which is the better choice, but bondo and then sanding will be too much work. Unless someone wants to do it for me...

I think you can pull it off with the shark fin. My friend has E55 with black roof. He has shark fin.. Looks clean..
