Default IS options dilemma

Hey everyone, great site. I'm trying to be a new Lexus owner, however it seems I cannot get and/or avoid certain options. For instance, I have not found a dealer where they are offering the Nav and ML. I am basically looking for that and the premium package and would like to stay with 17" rims.
I've read several posts about special orders, but even dealerships that I have found that will SO say they cannot get the nav/ml.
any advice? thanks....

are you stuck on a new 09 purchase...between 06-08 there is some good inventory with car brokers...IMO Nav and ML is worth pounding the pavement to find it....most came with 18" but I think you can find someone to swap out your wheel set if you get stuck with fac 18"..more popular wheel size as standard....17" wheel choice was mostly popular with 250 awd owners...but your in FL..stick the pavement with them 18s"

Also, are you looking 250 or 350?

Because I had to do a search for a customer, and there wasn't a single new 250 that we could find with the Levinson.

thanks for the quick replies... I was looking for the 250, and am finding out that it is probably impossible to find the ML and Nav. The 18" isn't a deal breaker for me either... it's just frustrating that they 'offer' the options, but in a literal world, you can't get them. I'm in no hurry, so i do have time to do the ground-pounding JNS..and will continue to do so... thanks!! I'd love opinions on the VDIM as it is standard in the 09's..... is the technology worth it? I do also like the 09 changes that were made. (mirrors, tail lights, etc)

They build them in certain combos for different areas of the country. You could try and special order, but it may be harder to get a good deal on a special ordered car. Or, you could try and find an area of the country that they equip them that way, and order from a far away dealer.

i cant help you on your search BUT i can give you some decent buying advise, DO NOT get the sport package, get the lux package. why? cuz your just gonna change out your suspension anyways (lowering springs/coils/air) and dont worry about rims cuz you'll just end up buying aftermarket too

If you KNOW you will change the suspension get Lux.

Otherwise the sport package is a much better deal.

Personally I prefer linear springs to progressive ones so the sport suspension with the F-sport sways is the perfect combo for me.

Anyway, there's no reason they shouldn't be able to special order -exactly- what you want- that's the point of a special order. Many dealers claim they'll special order and really mean they'll look for what you want on another dealers lot, which isn't the same thing at all.

If you need contact info for someone who'll actually order what you really want, lemme know (though they're in NC)

I'd never spend 30-40k on a car without getting exactly what I wanted in it.

thanks again all... buying in NC would actually be a great excuse for getting back up there. :-) how is the AFS working for people? I've heard negatives on them, but everyone is different.
