235/35/19 and 285/30/19 rubbing

I purchased new wheels and tires this weekend. The wheels are 19x8.5 front and 19x10.0 rear, both have a +40 offset. The tires are Toyo T1R tires (are these good or bad in wet and snow as compared to the Proxes 4?) but the tires seem to rub lightly in the front on turns (not sure where yet) and the rear rub on the actual fenders when the suspension compresses.
Has anyone been able to get a 285/30/19 to fit on the rear of an IS350? I love the way it looks as compared to a 275 but cannot take the constant sound of rubbing everytime the suspension compresses.
Also, the front wheels needed a spacer to clear the caliper, super annoying! They gave me some temporary universal ones (not happy) and I did some research and see there is application specific ones available for the car ranging in size from 15mm and up.
The current spacer is about 8mm and I would like to use the spacers that bolt to the hub and then the wheel attaches to the new spacer itself. Are these good/bad as compared to the regular type I spacer? I assume they would be much better. Also, the wheels sit close to even with the front but I was thinknig of using a 20mm spacer. Has anyone used a spacer of this size and did it look good?
Thanks!

what if any drop are you using?
Also if you increase the size of the spacers, I think that will cause you to rub even more.
Also for tires of that size in the rear, it is probably cheaper to roll your fenders than buy new ones. If you are willing to do a fender mod.

No drop currently, but would maybe consider a very small drop in the future (0.5"-1.0")
Wouldnt increasing the spacers in the front cause less rubbing since the wheels will sit further out? I looked online and quite a few people are running 235/35/19 in the front without any issues.
I am unhappy that I have less than 1mm of clearance between the front calipers and the rear of the face of my wheels. I also am unhappy that the current spacers are universal and look like *****, even if they arent visible.

You will need 225/35 fronts and 265/30 or 275/30 rears for no rubbing +40 offset rears would be pretty tucked so yah I saw people with +35 rears running 265/30 rears dropped on s-techs with no rubbing

if your rubbing now, dropping the car even .5/1.0 is just gonna cause more rubbing...
when you bought your rims you didnt get a R disk (high disk) face, which is why it doesnt clear the calipers... but i guess you know this now![Stick Out Tongue](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
285/30 tires... wow...![EEK!](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/eek1.gif)
what can you do? get smaller tires/get new rims with the proper disk face/just let the tires 'rub to fit'/roll the fender and/or visit a 4x4 shop and get a lift kit

Do you know where you're rubbing in the rears? The fact that you're rubbing with stock suspension is worrisome. You can try to roll the fenders, but running a skinnier tire is probably easier in the long run.

Swapped to 275/30/19 tires in the rear and the rubbing is gone. I think the tires look like crap as compared to the 285 but oh well.
Also, the wheels are 10" in the rear.....
As for the fronts. The wheels I wanted were not HFC wheels, but not much I can do now......
Currently there is a 8mm universal spacer on the wheel thus allowing it enough brake clearance, but its CLOSE.
I want to order a 10mm spacer or bigger possibly to push the front wheels totally even with the rears. Currently they sit in the fenderwell about 6mm still. I know that 6mm+8mm= 14mm but I was considering a 20mm Type II spacer.

Why would I need a smaller tire for the front? Its not rubbing on the fender, it seems to be rubbing on the back of the wheel well on the inside. A larger offset will put the wheel/tire further away from the inner fender.

I would have kept the 285 tire since you where going to lower. the negative camber would have taken care of this slight rub you had.
for the front you shouldnt need anything more then 5mm to clear the OEM calipers. Bolt on will require 15mm or more and may look funny with the rear.
I say go back to the 285 tire and drop the car 1" or more and it will look good and work.
