I imagine they mean an IS250 will always be slow, because you're pretty limited in engine mods and it'll always be cheaper to just buy an IS350 if you wanted a fast car.

Handling at slow speeds though, sure, you can mod the suspension the same for both and the 250'll be slightly lighter too.

Regardless of your interpretation of what someone else meant, it was a stupid comment. That was not the point of the review and speed of a car is relative my friend. It's hilareous to me how 350 owners come out of the woodwork to dig or slam a 250 anytime there is a thread on the car. LMAO

It's funny [as in strange] how one persons hilarious is another persons pathetic and petty.

"That tenth of a second can be attributed to the F Sport's stronger clutch and sticky 255/35ZR19 rear tires on lightweight wheels. (In fact, Lexus says these F Sport forged aluminum wheels are 5-6 pounds lighter than the stock 18s, which definitely helps the car accelerate.)"

Is that 5-6 pounds per wheel or total??

Anyway, I wouldn't take this article too seriously it is from Edmunds.

wtf, who cares about 250 vs. 350.

Interesting writeup and good feedback of F-sport suspension.

so i suppose a high/mid 13-second quarter mile is "relative" to a mid-15 second quarter mile?

btw, is350 owners don't "come out of the woodwork to dig or slam a 250 anytime there is a thread on the car." even is250 owners will agree to the fact that, in a straight line and around a high-speed/power circuit, the is350 will outrun an is250, and a modified is350 will outrun an equally-modified is250. that's not "dig" or a "slam"; that's just a fact.

Is it possible to powder coat those f-sport wheels to be a lighter color? I think they are too dark in color for my starfire pearl, makes me feel like they are donuts or something.

Post Edmunds tests IS 250 F-sport!! The writer hasn't gotten laid in 12 years.

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...hotopanel..1.*

If it were us, we'd buy a certified pre-owned IS 350, take it up a notch with the F Sport parts and call it a day.

They have the audacity to somehow refer to the IS 250 as a chicks car. I hate Edmunds. Their reviewers all drive Honda elements and they have the gall to call a RWD sports sedan a chicks car? What does that make all FWD cars then?

Shame on them (again). I can appreciate the long review on the overlooked F-sport parts but it sounds like a bunch of GIRLS wrote it. They continue to jab Lexus when they can. Ridiculous.

There are three hormone levels in the Lexus IS range, and they play out like this. The IS 350? Manly. The IS-F? Hair in all the wrong places. IS 250? The one that shaves its legs.
Hey Edmunds what do you think of diesel 4 cylinder 3 series and 4 cylider 3 and C class cars then? Does your dumb writer not understand not everone desires speed and CHOICE is luxury?
In fact, that should be in the ads. The Lexus IS 250. The Relentless Pursuit of a Delicious Mochacrapiata
Another jab by a clueless writer

Ten minutes with a heat gun, and Mary's IS 250 is easily mistaken for Mark's more folic IS 350.
Like ALL cars that offer multiple engine choices????? Moron.
And now that we've antagonized every guy who has ever bought the weak-suck, small-engine version of the rear-wheel-drive Lexus sport sedan, we offer a solution to their dilemma. It's called 2008 Lexus IS 250 F Sport, and it can turn your girlfriend's IS 250 into a ride you can drive without a bag over your head.
Its clear the Edmunds writer hasn't gotten laid in years.
That's just one-tenth of a second quicker than the 2007 Lexus IS 250 with six-speed manual transmission we tested. It's also kinda slow, and that's the No. 1 reason why the IS 250 is kind of a chick car.
What does the writer drive? NOT EVERYONE WANTS A FAST CAR YOU DOUCHE!!!
You remember that $3,000 you saved when you didn't buy the engine cover, the air intake and the fart can exhaust?
Its not a fart can exhaust you poor reason for flesh.
If you possess a Y chromosome and own a Lexus IS 250 (hopefully, it has a six-speed manual or you're really hopeless), the time has come to prove you've got a pair.
Who wants to meet this writer? I bet he only makes love to himself
And of course nobody could accuse us of driving our sister's car.
A perfectly good review ruined by unprofessionalism and bias and ridiculous commentary.
