Upgrading NAV DVD in 2006 IS 350
I bought a 7.1 Navigation DVD online and am planning on replacing the 5.1 disc in there now myself as opposed to paying the dealer to do it. I know it is behind the system but don't want to mess it up as I just got my 350 Friday. If anyone has done this on an IS any tips would be greatly appreciated and I apologize if this topic has already been posted.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The instructions are in the manual. There are tools in the tool kit next to your spare wheel. Push the pins into each side of the clock face and use suction cups to pull the face off. Hit eject and the dvd will come out.

What manual??? I only have the owners manual which doesn't have anything about the NAV system in it and a CD with a NAV quick guide that has nothing on that as well. Thanks for the tip and I will try that once I get the DVD next week.

Don't you have the separate hefty NAV manual? That is part of the thick document folder.

I just popped the clock out in no time. Can't believe the dealer wants $49 to load the DVD. They won't be getting my money. Thanks again.

No all I have is the CD and the Quick Guide. I emailed Lexus to see if they would give me one. Guess the guy I bought it from didn't have it either as he bought it from Toyota corporate after an employee drove it for a year. Thanks for verifying that it does exist.

Thanks for letting me know but I have already tried to override it and can get to the "hidden" screen but the override button doesn't generate a beep or darken. Not 100% sure I am doing it right but it hasn't worked yet. The guy I bought it from said Lexus "upgraded" it a couple years ago but it still had dvd ver 5.1 in it so I think they messed with it and deactivated the override feature somehow. Only had the car a week and am mad about the way the gps won't let you do anything. I can play a DVD but only if the parking brake is on as well.

Not sure if it will be but my current version (5.1) doesn't even know my side of the street exists as my house was built in 2006. I bought 7.1 on ebay for a lot less than 8.1 new and will be happy with that for a while and it should be more up to date on all the new construction in my area.
