Smoked Emblems
So, over the weekend I decided to take the emblems off and paint them to give it a different look rather than the chrome like every other IS in Gainesville. Started the project Fri afternoon and reinstalled yesterday afternoon. I didn't sand them at all. Just sprayed on a couple coats of Duplicolor adhesion premoter. Then, about 6 light coats of Metalcast:Smoke, didn't want it too dark. Finally, 6 coats of clear. Let me know what you guys think. Oh btw, please excuse the dirtiness, will wash tomorrow

You did a good job....looks different than the pearl emblems...I myself is on the fence about doing this to my own car...but it does look good against white.......mmmm thinking about it now

Thanks, I appreciated it!
Yeah I noticed at different angles it'll have a nice shine to it.
Thank you I see a lotta people on here either blacked out the emblems or bought the black pearl. Both are still nice but wanted get a little different look. Well worth $20 I spent on materials

Thanks. I bought a sound deadening kit from Scosche at Walmart like 3 years ago and it came with a door panel remover. I used painters tape all around and inside the logo and used it to kinda pry it off and with some heat from a heat gun/blow dryer.

Np, just be careful with the flathead. I too used a small flathead before I realized I still had that tool and kinda scratched underneath it. But when the emblem is back on no one will see it.
