and if you plan to keep it another few years keep in mind it's fairly inexpensive to get an extended Lexus warranty from a few of the dealers online who sell em (in the 1200-1400 range for a 7 yr/100k platinum warranty on a 350 for example).

Really? Where can I learn more information on this Kurtz? I would love to consider this for my car, since I have also hit ~ 45,000.

Extended warrany on the most reliable car manufacturer seems a bit overkill. If it hasn't broken yet chances are it won't. The only things needing replacing are maintenence items which would not be covered under warranty.

Just my opinion.

Are you sure about that??

That's some serious Russian roulette to be playing with some big ticket items like your NAV etc

While I agree Lexus is the most reliable car brand there is, I've also seen how they price their parts like they're made of gold.

Some dude broke his sunglass holder and it was like a $900 part to fix it. (granted warranty doesn't cover you breaking a part off the car, but the part pricing was my point).

There's relatively few parts that could fail and cost less than $1200 to have the dealer replace, and many that'd cost more. You might well NEVER need it, but if you do even once it'll likely pay for itself.

Toby Rivers was the cheapest pricing I found when I looked around-

TobyToyota@aol.com

800-335-3987 ex 414

I think he works at a Lexus dealer in Louisiana

Oh, so does that mean you have to go get your warranty service at that location?

Yeah I am coming up to 45K too. Was wondering how much the extended warranty cost for CA owners.

The rubbers and moldings are under warranty? not wear and tear?? LOL. What did you say to the Lexus Service rep?

^ i thought you were parting out?
i was going to but.... i went to the dealership last night to test drive the is-f and they were going to give me 18 for my car..... wow *** holes....and the one i test drove was used with 3k miles for 49.... i think it might just be my area...Marin county.... maybe a different dealership?

Any Lexus warranty is good at any Lexus dealer in the country.

Tobys price was less than half what my local dealer wanted for the exact same warranty.

You have a few options, as far as 7 yr/100k, 7 yr/75k, etc... there's also lower levels but the price difference wasn't really worth considering anything other than the platinum.

You have until the second prior to your 4 yr/50k warranty expiring to buy this.

Note the 7 yr/100k or whatever it total, not in addition. (ie you don't get covered for 11 years from the car being new and 150k miles, you're just covered to 7 yrs/100k)

On recommendations from others on this forum, I went to:

Troy Dietrich
TDietrich@factorydiscountwarranty.com

$1,650 for the 7/100 warranty. Fast, painless, profession, legit Lexus Platinum warranty.
