Default Remove bad odor from ISx50

A friend threw up in my car two days ago after a late night of drinking...argh!

I cleaned up the mess, but my car wreaks of vomit and it's actually making me sick and nauseous. Is there anything I can buy to get rid of this smell. I will be taking my car to get it detailed next week after the rain ends, but until then, I need something bad.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, the only thing you can do temporarily is using Febreeze or Oust.

Get that interior shampoo'ed as soon as possible.

If your going to take it to detail, they might be able to get that smell out. If not your just going have to take your seats and anything that is holding down your carpet and then take your carpet out. Wash shampoo it, etc and wipe/wash anything on the car floor that seeped through.

Thanks guys. I'm going to pick up Odor Bomb until I get my car detailed. Do they carry it at Pep Boys?

Default Baking Soda

The smell is from the stomach acid your friend chucked. Baking Soda will neutralize the acid. If the vomit was on the carpet, it's easiest to remove it from the car. Make a slurry, not too watery and let is soak in for a while. Then use a carpet cleaner / wet-dry vac to get up the moisture. You may require a few treatments. Also, you can follow-up with Nature's Miracle.

I would detail the car and have them shampoo the floor mats and have them thoroughly clean the seats and the carpet around the seats.

Oust, Fabreeze and Lysol and some disinfectant spray would help as well. I would try everything.

the remains of her vomit are also in the passenger seat pores. what's the best way to get that out? i don't want to put any watery solution on it because i'm afraid it'll short out something. i have the ventilated heat/cool seats. is it best to let a professional do that?

thanks.

ack... its a 'her'... see women are EBIL

if it was me, i'd goto a hardware store (or where ever) and rent a steam cleaner, pull the seat (to vac the carpet) then pull the leather off the chair for getting at the inside of the seat.

I know for fabric seats there are large metal staples you can cut off that hold the fabric to the seat. Maybe its the same for the leather. Though you will need to get those metal staples to put it back.
