Default LED drl conversion kit

http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/P...id/0/SFV/32481

Has anyone used this on a 2IS?

Im thinking of buying it, but I'm not sure if its going to fit in that tiny black housing where the city lights and drl/high beam are.

so has anyone installed this without any modification?

Ummm well Im thinking it will be pretty easy since its plug and play. Its probley wont fit in the black housing so all you have to do is cut a lil piece off the little latch door covering the bulbs on the black housing so the wire can run out and you can mount that lil ballast thing something else with double sided tape. I had to do the same thing for my HID's.

I don't want to modify the black housing and risk moisture getting into my headlight housing. Im in Hawaii its humid as hell here and it rains a LOT.

I don't think you will risk that *Crosses fingers Knock on Wood*. I did it and I live in Florida which may not be as humid as Hawaii but still pretty dam humid and also rains alot.. All you have to do is drill a TINYYY slit with a dremel. I don't think it will affect the lights. If you really don't wanna do that then you can just close the latch door thing on the wire and mount the small ballast somewhere but I personally I don't like putting pressure on the wires. Hope that helps!! Good luck if you get them!

ok... to clear up some of the confusion...

everyone knows the DRL runs at low wattage when the lowbeams are off, running at low wattage will cause the LED to have a hid like flicker, some ppl dont like this flicker (those with the yellow bug eyes ) so installing this module will act as a capasitor to store a charge so that the DRL will run at a higher power = no flicker and much brighter... using this module with stock 9005 DRL's is really not recomended since it will cause you to drive around durring the day with your hibeams on.
