Installing Spacers - Question about installing longer studs ?
Hey all, I'm looking to install spacers on my IS250. I have enough clearance to do 25mm rear, 15mm front.
I was looking to go w/ Ichicha version 2's in the rear (stud built onto the spacer). And version 1's in the front, (where they supply longer stud).
Now my question is, is there enough room to install the new, longer stud being its longer then the OEM stud? I talked to a Tech at my local Lexus dealership and he didn't sound too sure or confident, but said that the OEM's can be pounded out through the rear, but studs any longer then the OEM's won't be able to fit because there's not enough clearance to pull them through?
Anyone with experience in installing longer studs? Do they work just fine? Does this guy not know what he's talking about?

The OEM rims have cut out in the back of the hub's face, you don't need to cut the studs cuz the extra sticking out bits will go into the cutout with no problem.
Just take off your rim and see

there is nothing wrong with grinding down the front studs..you just have to have the spacers be permanent...or just replace the grinded studs with new, oem ones if you want to take off the spacer.
but to answer your question...you're simply replacing the studs with longer ones...i.e. taking out old and putting in new. how would they not fit?

not sure, guy at Lexus said it wouldn't work but he ovbiously doesn't know what he's talking about being so many have use spacers here...
I'm going to go the version 2 route and just grind down the studs, seams like less work and I don't mind this being permanent.

You can most definitely install longer studs in the back (I've done it several times) but there's a limit. These 3" studs from ARP are too long:
As you can see, the OEM's are 2 inches long - so anywhere between 2" and 2.75" and you won't have any problems getting them in. Longer than 2.75" and you're going to have to get them cut.
