wow, you kids are so lucky, you guys should be thankful for great parents! Anyways this is what you should do. Get a used 08 IS350 barely a year old. With the economy so bad you should be able to get a good deal between 30k to 35k. As you may know many dealerships are trying to get rid of all 08 models and get the 09's in. So you gotta low balled them and tell them wuz up. And if you get a good deal, you'll probably save 5 to 8g's, and that will cover your insurace for the next year or too. Plus you can tell your parents that, and they'll think you did your research and you're pretty responsible. Talk to your parents like you're talking to a dealership guy. Try out skills before the real thing.. lol. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Damn, I cant believe someone is paying 4500+ insurance. That must be some good coverage you have there! My insurance is only $500+ full 6months.
bike is about $250 for 6 months.

I pay 420 per 6months, NOT full coverage thou but with decent coverage, if i ever decide to do just 'basic' legal to drive it would be about 240 per 6months but i'll never do that~

course with this economy thou...

New or used, you cant go wrong. If you purchase used, insure you get a carfax and service records. If you can by from a Lexus dealer it would be to your benefit. I traded our F150 in on (NEW) 2006 IS250, that we bought in Missouri. Never regretted the purchase, and the body styling is timeless. We haven't had ANY problems from the car!! For that matter any Toyota product you by will out last, hold its value longer and cost you less to operate on a yearly basis than anything you can buy domestically. If our auto manufactures would build something even close they wouldn't be in the trouble they are now.

Good Luck!

What insurance company is that and what are your coverages and deductible? Also what is your age and is the insurance under your name or parents cuz I live in SoCal 32 years old and married with $100 deductible full coverage(300k/500k, rental and towing) and I pay $950 every 6 months.

Default Is 350

I just bought an IS 350 last week (upgrade to my IS 250) and I must say, there are great deals out there to be had. But they do go quickly as well. I was looking at an 06 350 with nav and 37K miles for 24.7K and the car was gone the next day. Good thing I waited though; I found an 07 350 with Luxury, Nav, everything else you can think of except Sports package for 29K. It had only 17.5K miles when I picked it up.

So there are many used cars out there if you are willing to wait for the right one. If you do not need a car, don't rush it. 2010s will be out end of summer so great deals will come on the 09s.

I had to pay for my 07 IS250 when I graduated! Best of luck.
