I've never been a fan of the drive by wire system. It does give you a irritating lag. I'm sure it must feel better with the Blitz...and even with some saying that pwr mode feels the same or simply pressing more gas. It still won't rid the symptom of lagging during acceleration. It's a good product.....but still, $400 is a chunk of change that doen't even involve ecm or transmission change to go along with the throttle. Great DIY..congrats on your new mod smokeyis350..maybe I'll run into you some day then reconsider!!!!

hrmm.. in my opinion wouldn't this be a good idea to put it on the IS250s even more? since i do notice the throttle lag on my car when i pedal to the metal and its lacking in hp. if you put this on the IS250s you can get the initial jump needed to lead for a second or two; even though the IS250 won't win in the end. it'll be a good feeling :P
even though its a false sense of hope. it's still hope!
great mod. nice DIY

It lists 3 things it does, all transmission related... and nothing about the throttle.
If you have other info I'd love to see it though.
As to the throttle "lag" again, it's not really possible for this thing to "fix" that in any way that pushing the gas harder can't.
It's just sitting in series between the pedal and the rest of the system.
So the only thing it -can- do is change the signal indicating how far you pushed the pedal.
If there's any programming in the system that says "If he pushes the gas 80% you should lag 2 seconds before opening the TB 80%" then it exists further down the line than where this thing plugs in.
What you're imagining as "less lag" is simply "more gas" and you'd get the same result pushing the gas further.

We have at least two references who have reported that the controller eliminates the lag and generally provides a more spirited driving experience. If you think the controller is overpriced for what it does - fine. I'm sure 5/6 of the cost comes from having "Blitz" or "Tom's" written on it.
But as far as we know it works as advertised.

well not tryin to be a hater but i just installed the blitz throttle controller and yea it makes a little difference but it still has lag even in sp3 mode....i have and a 250 but this might have a different affect on a 350....maybe i was expecting too much but thats just my input

...says the guy who has actually never tested the unit.

You don't need to "test" the unit to understand what it actually does.
You only need to read the directions and see where it plugs in.
It's -impossible- for it to "eliminate lag" because the only thing it -can- do is modify the "how far did he push the gas pedal" signal, based on how and where it is installed.
Likewise I don't need to "test" the neosocket to know it doesn't add hp and improve mileage, and I don't need to "test" the electric intake supercharger to know it doesn't actually add boost to the car. It's simply not possible for it to do so.
You also have "reports" from people who claim the TSIB pads hurt their braking distance too, and we know that's -also- physically impossible.
People will fool themselves into thinking lots of things on the butt dyno, especially when they drop hundreds of bucks for something or "want" it to do what it physically can't.
If folks are happy dropping 400 bucks to add a false sense of greater acceleration they could achieve for free by being heavy on the gas pedal, that's entirely their choice. But they shouldn't think it actually does anything but lie about how far the gas was pushed.

the acceleration lag is probably one of my biggest complaints about my 350. i imagine this unit does something similar to how many infiniti's are tuned. the G35/37s have instant acceleration at the touch of the pedal.
out of curiosity, where do u get this?
