IS 350 Tires
I have 30,000 miles on my tires and it's time reload. I'm thinking about getting the Yokohama S.drives. I like the price at discount tire and reviews however they don't have the correct OEM size for the rears. I was thinking about going with this combo.
Fronts = S.drive 225/40r 18
Rears = S.drive 255/35r 18
Has anyone gone this direction? Or any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Here are the overall diameters of the following tires:
255/40R18 = 26.03"
245/40R18 = 25.71"
255/35R18 = 25.02" So basically 1" lower in overall diameter
Just go with the 245/40R18 which is closer in height and probably cheaper.

Overall width:
255/35R18 = 10.2"
245/40R18 = 9.9"
Is a 1/3 of an inch even noticeable?
I'd rather be closer in overall diameter than in width so it won't throw off my speedometer too much not to mention you'll be a full inch lower on the rear than stock with that 35 series. That's just my opinion either way ideally would have to be the 255/40R18 but it's up to the op to decide what he wants to do. BTW why don't you just go with Sumitomo HTRZIII from tirerack? They have the fronts(225/40R18) for $111 each and the rear(255/40R18) for $153 each.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus
Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position.
Can you mis-match tires. I have fairly new Bridgestone Potenza RE050 on the FRONTS for 18". Do I have to get the same tire for the REAR? Will it mess with the differential?

Reviews seem for the most part positive on tirerack:

And yes you can mismatch in brands from front to rear just make sure that both rears are matching sizes and you'll be fine.

I have the sumitomos htrzIII on my car in the rears and yokohomas on the front, I don't really notice a difference from having the stock tires, if your really a avid car person and notice tiny things then you might have some problems. But I did not notice anything different, and for the price of them its great to have them.
