^The issue was lack of space in the bottom of the IS-F seat. To achieve the better bolstering, they had to sink the seat down and to the back. The engineers literally ran out of room to stuff the necessary padding and heated/vented seats, so they went with what fit - the heaters only. And I COMPLETELY agree with the sheer AWESOMENESS of the IS-F seats.

Hahah ![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Try Freedom Chair if you have the chance; one seat with full option goes around $3k.
Back to topic:
Swap it if you are making it a show car, but you will need more than one seat for a show car.
Get another car for tracking because our car is not for tracking. It will be cheaper and more fun if you start with a STI or Lancer.
The O/E seat is about $7k each.
My opinion only.

Please don't. You will regret it. Racing seats don't belong in the IS unless you have it stripped down to be a track car. Not only are they not going to be anywhere near as comfortable, you will lose all the nice features our seats have. Personally, I think racing seats in a Lexus is kind of silly looking anyway.

Four point? Never in my car. Definitely for show. So are those seats. Real racer seats all have halos now to work with your HANS device. I've been on the track with four point harnesses and compared to 5 or 6 point harnesses they're pretty sucky.
I've been looking into seats very deeply because I have to spend a bunch of money on safety gear just to hedge my bets against a very serious injury (I have a C-spine problem and the docs all say I can't drive on the track or I could be in a wheelchair - but they said the same thing when I was racing motorcycles, so I'm not really overly concerned about their advice). So I've been investigating racing seats I could install in my Supra or my IS-F. I'm glad to see there are harness bars readily available.
As far as the seats go, there are no reclining racing seats. Any reclining seat is a touring seat. It might feel great (like the one in the F) but it can't possibly provide the support a fixed seat does. The other big thing about a fixed seat - if it is properly positioned for good control, you'll NEED a quick release steering wheel. It will be just about impossible to squeeze in between the wheel and the seat if you're positioned right in the car in a fixed seat.
I'm looking at a Sparco Pro ADV and a Recaro HANS XL. Anybody else is an "also ran" in the performance seat market. Both are FIA approved for international competition. See below:

I recently took my stock seats out and replaced them with Recaro SRD's on Bride RO rails. Thats just because I was waiting for my Leather Brides to get delivered. Nothing happens with the ECU, the only thing that happens is the air bag light comes on in the cluster. Also, switching the seat belt buckle was a little tricky because of a clip that goes into it. Other than that it was a 45 min job.
