Aftermarket Seats
Was thinking of putting in some racing seats and wanted to get some advice from anyone that already has some in their 2IS.
Anybody have tips on install, electrical problems, etc.?
I don't mind losing all the features of heat/cooled seats, memory positions, and power controls, but I heard that the seat has its own ECU and will cause a lot of problems for me if I put in some new seats.

The only thing I can say about after market seats is that you get what you pay for. As this goes with usually anything in life I can say def spend a few more bucks and if possible sit in them before you buy them. This story goes from a few years back...
My friend and to I had taken a road trip to Canada (from Buffalo) to this racing depot place with millions of parts etc. Well at the time the US dollar was worth a lot more so we were getting a lot for our money. He would up buying this molded Recaro seats (not cheap). Only thing was they didnt recline!! Neither one of us had thought to buy the more expensive ones that did recline, we thought they weren't as sporty! So he had a brand new RSX type-S with over 10k invested in parts turbo, rims, suspension... now these this awesome Recaro seats... that were so uncomfortable!!! You honestly couldnt sit in them for more than 10min. Im 6ft1" about 180 and I couldnt move at all in the seat which is the purpose of a racing seat but I def would recommend this if this car is your daily driver.
Bottom line if your going to purchase new seats make sure you sit in them first and keep in mind the things I mentioned above. Also def dont sell your old seats on ebay like he did cause he was **** outta luck ahahahaha!

I think the biggest issue for me is liability of the seat airbags. Your insurance can deny your claim as such modifications if you would get into an accident. Same can be said about putting a momo steering wheel. Just my .02

^The issue was lack of space in the bottom of the IS-F seat. To achieve the better bolstering, they had to sink the seat down and to the back. The engineers literally ran out of room to stuff the necessary padding and heated/vented seats, so they went with what fit - the heaters only. And I COMPLETELY agree with the sheer AWESOMENESS of the IS-F seats.
