Yes, but as nn432100 said, make absolutely sure you put the A/C into recirculate mode first, otherwise you WILL break the linkage that controls whether the car delivers fresh or recirculated air, a very expensive repair not covered by the warranty.

RECIRCULATE MODE
RECIRCULATE MODE
RECIRCULATE MODE before attempting to remove filter. There should be warnings all over that door... I've read a lot of posts on this board from people who tried to lift the door manually and broke that linkage.

if there was a rat, wouldnt you also notice a lot lot lot of fecal matter in the car and in the cabin filter? i am almost beginning to think this is a hoax. : P hahahaha. but if it isn't, good luck finding the culprit.

You guys should do a search, I dont believe this is the first time ;p
I remember reading several threads about rodents in our vechicals
1. Rat chewed all the wiring and lived in some foam near the engine
2. Someone found a rat on the windshield(walking around)
3. Raccoon got stuck behind the lower grille on the 3GS.
Im sure they're more cases out there

Damn mice!
One of my co-workers had his jeep eaten by mice in one evening. He had to have 2 wiring harnesses replaced at great expense.
Damn mice!
Get control of them!
