Excessive Rear Tire Wear on AWD plus low speed wobble, anyone?
my apologies if this has been answered. i have a couple of things going on.
vehicle: 2007 is250 awd
notable mods: tanabe nf210 springs. bbs ch 18 x8 rims on continental extreme contact 235/40.
1. has anyone else experienced what seems to be a slow speed (13-17mph) wobble? feels like it's coming form the rear. rims are straight.
2. i go through rear tires very quickly (2 sets of rear tires in the past 18k miles). i suspect that the slow speed wobble might have something to do with this. any idea what would be causing this? is this a side effect of lowering?
many thanks to the tire and suspension pros for your help.

Nobody thinks the tanabe springs have anything to do with it?

i have the same problem...8k miles and my rear tires are gone..had the alignment done when i lowered the car at 3k miles and camber wear was bad on the tires..just had the car realigned with toe adjustment and new tires are on the way..this may be the same issue with your drop...im just hoping once i get the new tires, i dont have to cough up money every 8k miles for new tires.

The tire wear is not because you have springs its because your camber is off or toe is off. The wobble seems to be an issue with the awd models but people are still looking for a fix.
Check to see if any of the shocks are leaking, you could also push down on each corner of the car and see if they all react the same.

Make sure you get a print out when you go for an alignment. Most techs at large shops(firestone, midas) have very minimal experience with lowered vehicles and don't understand fully the extent of running excessive on a daily driver.
