Default 18" forged lightweight wheel suggestions - sizes

Looking to purchase a set of affordable 18" wheels for the winter seasons.

Would like the wheels be lightweight, preferably forged and dark in color. Think gun metal, black, or something similar. My car color is Tungsten Pearl so I would like a color that compliments it.

Don't want to spend more than $1500 for the wheels total, so I know that limits my options.

If anyone has suggestions, pictures, or recommendations it would be appreciated.

So far, the best choice I found was the SSR Type C RS, the Gram Lights 57F, and the O.Z. Alleggerita HLT.

I really like the O.Z. Alleggerita HLT!

Thanks!

Affordable - lightweight - strong. When it comes to wheels, you can pick any two. Those OZ's, despite being lightweight, are cast. SSR Type C's aren't true forged either, they're made using SSR's "semi-solid forging" process, and I doubt you can get a new set for $1500 - used maybe. Gram lights are great wheels, and out of the ones you listed those would be the ones I'd go with. However, they will run you north of $1500, probably in the $1800-2000 range (new). You might want to consider the SSR Type-F also, if you like multi-spoke wheels at all. Good luck!

Just pay the extra money and get volks. I know this is a lame answer, but I have now put my volks to the test twice hardcore. Where they are digging up the highway for the new cowboy stadium they did a crap job patching it. Well I drove my IS to work the other day and came back and hit what i would consider a small speed bump going 70. It hit so hard my dash rattled. It knocked both my headlights so far out of wack i spent 30min that night adjusting them back. That said my volks were fine. Not one bent. that alone would have cost me 300.00 to repair on any weaker wheel. You can get used volks (especially 18's) on many forums. Just look

Those are nice, but the polished lip isnt going to look nice up here in the northwest becuase it rains too much. I want to stick with black or some darker color wheels.

I was able to find a set of new Gram lights in the following size for $1300 shipped. Is that good? I know nothing of these wheels.

40mm
Backspacing: 6.41"
Bolt Pattern: 5-114

Wow, that's a great price! I'd jump on that if I were you. But most importantly, do you like them?

^Pass. Don't make the mistake of buying wheels you don't really want because "it's a good deal." You'll regret that very quickly.
