Everything in the first post is true although I have an alternate theory. I think people park next to us because, they really want to look at the car. It's has a unique look, it's pretty as hell and they don't own one.

I never try to isolate my car though. I always look for a spot next to another luxury car and even better if I can find two luxury cars that I can snuggle in the middle of.

The more expensive the car, the more care people tend to take... that's my theory and I'm sticking to it!

Parking next to smaller 4 door premium sedans is a safer bet.

Even if the car owner takes care, his or her small children often don't. Given a choice between parking next to a cheap car with short lightweight doors, or an expensive land yacht with big heavy doors, I'll take the former.

Hahaha!!! Your not the only one who experiences this buddy. I get more dings on my Lexus then my gf's Scion and we park that car in any closest stall next to a main entrance. To make it more of an awesome experience I parked at an island in the middle of no where in a Wal-Mart parking lot and when I come back to my car....what do I see parked next to my Lexus.......a lifted SUV with some monster wheels and it looked like it just came back from off-roading. I double checked my car and everything was fine though.

Also by parking next to the correct cars(luxury and small cars) you would probably be in a better place. For example, if I see a car that has their bumper ready to fall off, or they have all these dents and scratches all over then you would definitely not wanna park next to them(even if it was a luxury or small car).

Not to mention all of the times I parked out in the boonies to come back and find this huge a$$ monster truck wannabe POS parked real close to me to the point where you know that when the driver opens the door there's a chance he'll hit your glass if he's not careful

One time I saw a brand new IS-F at Walmart, about 15 spots away from any car. and I parked right next to it. LOL

Not.
LOL!! So true! The more mods that I add, the closer people park it seems.

Same thing happens to me too every day I work. I park in the middle of nowhere and poof theres a Tahoe next to me or something. I'm starting to think that people know why you park by yourself, hence they park next to you just to spite you...

Ha ha...lol... I can tell you it happens to EVERYONE with a Lexus... People see a nice Lexus.. and they know the owner is not stupid enough to ding the door, so the park next to you for the protection of their own car!

This ish happens to me all the fu%$ing time. I purposely park in the very back of parking lots away from everybody else and what do you know? A broke *** Ford Probe or some other garbage parks right next to me. This happens more frequently than it should. What's the deal son?

I just stay away from coupes (big door), and Grand Maquis-type cars. I try to park next to minivans (front door doesn't open 90-degrees, plus rear doors slide open, AND most times i will be done with my shopping before the soccer mom does ), and next to cars whose drivers know how to park.

I think people with crappy cars do it on purpose to **** us off. Maybe they're sending a message about not being concerned about material things. Or maybe they'e just stupid. I give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they're stupid.
