Default Hit and Run!

Left my office this evening to find that some f#*%@! hit my IS350 and drove off. Damage is on the driver's rear bumper and includes a broken lower lense. My question to you fellow CL members is has anyone had similar damage done? If so, have you had any issues with autobody shop matching Smokey Grey Mica? I'm assuming the bumper needs to be repainted. I have an 8am appointment at my dealership to have the three TSBs done on this coming Monday. I plan on asking, but I know they direct me to their autobody contractor. Again, any tips or shared experiences would be appreciated.

The damage looks deep through the paint so your bumper will most likely have to be repainted. As long as you go to a reputable auto body shop, paint matching shouldn't be a problem. Your Lexus dealership will give you good recommendations. Good luck!

I was also involved in a hit and run a few months after I purchased my car. I feel your pain man. Here is a link to my incident https://www.clublexus.com/forums/cl-...-customer.html. From the pics I can't see if there is any structural damage but you will definitely have to get the entire bumper painted. I would recommend asking/searching for shops in your region section of clublexus. I was also worried about paint matching but CL members pointed me to the right shop and they got the work done. Good luck.

i just had my whole driver side repainted and its SGM and it an easy color to blend in so if you want you can just have them blend in that area or repaint the whole bumper but quality depends on were you take it

Wow man that sucks!!!!

I was involved in an accident in Feb. I was at a red stop light and I was rear ended. I had to have the entire bumper replaced, and that metal plate under the spare tire was all crumpled. I brought it to my dealership, who has a body shop, and they repaired it. Told me there was no frame damage and most of it was just cosmetic (besides the removable plate). The other person's insurance paid for everything. The total was $3300 and took 6ish working days.

Here is a pic, I took right after the accident:

Hopefully that gives you an idea.

That's immoral ... but for them to leave their contact info would be very rare, I'd think.
