Default Front Oem GFX Lip Problem!

I just purchased mine and noticed it does not have the double sided tape on or preinstalled... can u post a pic that shows where it should go so that way mine installs properly w/no gap!

edit: i guess a pic of it prior to being installed would show the tape in place?

Thank in advance for any help!

correct me if i'm wrong.. but it will be flush even without tape. I purchased mine from Sewell and they came with a set of install directions, and i don't even see tape being used in the directions, mine looks pretty flush on the bumper without tape.

Are you sure you don't have tape? It should be really thin; along the corners of the lip.

What he said. It's very thin, often covered with black tape (at least mine was), which effectively hid it well against my black front lip
Even without it, I would not imagine a very noticeable gap as I could have easily installed mine without the tape and it would have looked fine

Chavez, it's SK! The double sided tape is a VERY thin strand. You should pull it at the very END of the install, when you have it situated with all the platic & metal pins. You're also going to need to just break off the metal tabs. You will not be using them, unless you want to drill. There's a DIY here that recommends just removing the tabs, which is what I did as well with my install. It's very strong without them. Also, with the rear decklid spoiler, you will also need to break off the tabs to do a tape only install. I would recommend to buy extra 3m tape for piece of mind.

You're going to have a slight, very minor gap with the front lip. I do as well. I tried to minimize it by pushing it as far as possible, but still have a sliver of a gap.

How's it going with the install?

All the screws by itself should hold up the lip...

The tape is just to ensure the gap is at a minimal...
