Default Hose Break=Check system warning *pic*

I had the check system warning pop up a week ago so I have an appointment to take my car to the dealer tomorrow. I checked under the hood today and saw the rubber hose going to my intake had snapped! It doesn't suprise me since it is pulled so tight.

What does that hose do? The hose was broken for a week or so, is it possible that there was any damage?

Thanks for helping me sleep better tonite!

What year is your car? The hose is held on by a clip for me.

Iv got an 07. I replaced the hose today with a longer one, but there is still a kink. I'm really only concerned that the dealer notices I changed it, since they might try to charge me for the service this week if it's related. I think Im gonna try to find a hose with a rigid 180 degree bend.

Make sure you put the stock intake back in when you go to the dealer, ESP being from NY.(Dealers here aren't very forgiving or mod friendly.)

Thanks, I noticed the hose break when I was doing exactly that. Does anybody know exxactly what this hose does ? It was broken for a long time and I'm nervous now that it did some damage.

So you changed the intake, which led to a hose breaking, which led to a warning light on the dash. Now you're here getting support for putting the stock intake back on and lying to the dealer instead of getting the light cleared and spending a few bucks.

Interesting approach to life.

A little dramatic don't you think?
First, it's more than a few bucks and I've already replaced the hose myself, now I just want to know if the hose being broken could have caused any damage to my engine.
