Hey Guys;
I've done a search and I cannot find a thread with the answers I am looking for.
I have a 2008 IS350 w/ 18" stock rims. I have about 24k on it, and I need new tires - they are really worn on the outside edges. The OEM tires that I have are;
Turanza ER33's 225/40 R18 (front) 255/40 R18 (rear)
I always get my tires from tirerack, but when it comes to options to replace the current ones I have, it's only giving me the Turanza's (same ones) and the Dunlop Sport Maxx (horrible reviews).
Onto my question.....Even though tirerack doesn't recommend it, can I look at other tires? My car is a Lease and it's very possible that I might return it with these next tires that I purchase. I just want to make sure that any new tire I get is okay at "turn in time".
Thoughts and suggestions for other tires? What are you guys running on 18" stock rims?
Thanks!![Thumb Up](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
(I'm in FL, I only need summer sticky tires, no need for all-seasons..)

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
They have very good ratings over at tire rack.

WOW! Those are expensive; Just the tires w/o shipping and installation is over $1k. I should have mentioned that I really don't want to spend over $800 for 4 tires......
I called up my local tire store and they recommended the Potenza RE760s .. and they gave me a great price for all 4 out the door installed; Around $750 (tire rack wants $690 for all 4 tires shipped)
Thoughts on the Potenza RE760s?

Have you checked discount tires. They should be really cheap, like around 700 bucks only for regular tires. i'm running Falken 19's and its only costing me around 800 bucks for all four.
Or you can buy good tires and when its time to return the car, put back the old tires.

I have Sumitomo HTR ZIII from NTB. They price matched Tire Rack's great prices which gave me a total of $750. My older brother who owns a GS350 turned me on to these tires. Really great value and great performance. They are very quiet with a nice bite also. Feels tight on sharp turns and has stiffer sidewalls for better cornering. They are worth looking into. So far I am really enjoying these 4 new meats. They also have a LOT of different sizes.

I 2nd the Sumitomo!!!! Great tire, decent price! 7k on them here. Compared to stock, they are quieter, have more bite, better in just about all conditions except for wet. IMO.
Also, big advantage.... NON-DIRECTIONAL. They can be rotated (at the very least side to side if you are on staggered wheels.

i will be most likely switching to yokohamas when they are released. when you return a leased car they dont care what tires are on it as long as the brands match and there is a decent amount of treads left. i returned my old car with tires one size larger, meaning 255 instead of 245's and with a higher speed rating and they didnt care.

i had the same dilhema 2 months ago. after much much search and reading i decided to go with the Michelin Pilot Sport all season plus. yea they are expensive, but i wanted tires that would last a long time. the treadwear rating is 500? i think. great overall tire. i've got 5k miles on them now and they still look brand new.
