Default Mark Levinson VS non Mark Levinson

My old IS has the ML system, the new one doesnt. I dont really hear a difference between the too, but is there a substantial difference? I see the nav and audio has a few small differences depending on the screen you are in, but thats about it.

Also, can I swap out the factory speakers and has anyone installed an amp and sub? Links would be nice. Thanks!

First time I've heard anyone say such things...

I've always heard that its a night and day difference over the Lexus Premium sound system...

Being a Non-ML owner, I've tried to stay away from hearing an ML system for the simple fact that I might regret what I dont have

Interested to hear others opinions...

yes you can swap out your speakers and add subs... need a professional tho not jus ur typical audio installer because our cars have allot of computer stuff.. not ur typical acura or honda instal....

i got JL W7 subs and a JL1000/1 amp with my ML system... bumps like crazy

I've got ML in my 350, and whenever I get a loaner 250 it has the normal system, and I notice a huge difference.

To the point I just turn on NPR, because music is so not as good. And even that sounds worse.

All that said, the "stock" system is very good by most OEM standards, the MLs just, to me, noticably better.

Just curious if you needed any adapter or anything to install the amp/sub with the ML system? I have an '07 IS250 with ML and want to add more Boom. I have my old Xtant 6.1 and JL's ready to have installed, but just curious if I need anything else?

Im sure theres no disadvantage of having a ML. I dont see why a non ML will be better than a ML in any way. I dont have a ML. The system isnt to bad.

Aside from the benefit to audio quality of the ML system, increased # of speakers, etc.. isn't the major difference that the ML unit can play DVD discs, where the non-ML cannot?

ML by itself doesn't play DVDs.

ML -with nav- will do so however.

Either option by itself does not.

Depends on your ear. I myself is extremely sensitive to notes and tones because I used to mix in highschool, some songs just sound so bad on the non ML system in my car, I play around with the settings all the time to get it to sound marginally better.

I would say to someone who likes enjoying music, it sounds kind of like a really blend no taste orange juice lol
