Yep, this should have been standard with the IS. At least we have the rear plate LED's.

Looks easy to do...

I think it is...

White LED's 5MM
http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2102852

Then flush mount w/ 5MM LED holder..

I use to use this for interior lighting.. not too sure how well it will work since it will be weathered... exposed to the elements..

i was soo going to do it.. you can run a relay using the puddle lamp ground side to close the contact for the LED.. this would allow the led to come on and off with the puddle lamp.. i'm sure you can splice into the puddle lamp power supply, but you run the risk of surging the line, its just safer with the relay.. (not that the LED draws alot of power, but safer is always better) if i ever have time to do this, i will share with everyone.

It's simple to do. I just need get a spare set of door handles to give it a test go.

You'll need to put a resister on that LED so that it can handle the power from the car.

Well the bulb will not be sticking out totally. Part of it will. You can seal off the inside with silicone. The outside...maybe a clearcoat of paint?

been meaning to do this...got the LEDs and resistors all soldered and ready. its too damn hot out though and too lazy to take the door panels off and run wires.

there's a picture of it floating around somewhere here...

i think it'd pretty much be the same parts as this mod...

from what i recall you just have to connect it and wire it up to your puddle lamps... but a DIY... i've been waiting for one
