afterwards just the people who don't have their car anymore...hhehe J/K. remember when you go in just look at the Jr. crew that works there. You don't need any formal auto experience to get hired there. Then make your decision on your 40k car. IMO!

dealership, reputable independent shop (typically not a chain), or DIY.
I've heard too many horror stories about bad oil changes, pay a little more (or wait a little longer) for some peace of mind.

You might be sending your car to the grave doing that... Go to the dealership, independent shop, ect. chains like jiffy lube have horrible reputations. My mother's first car's engine died simply b/c one of these chain oil changing places forgot to put oil in the car -_-.

Also, if you're ever in a shop and they bring your air filter to you with freshly smeared oil on it to show you how neglected your car is, RUN.
Truthfully, though, any business can be good or bad, depending on their leadership. I recently turned in a Ford at the end of the lease, and the inspection noted that the oil was very dirty and low. The problem with that was that I had the dealer change the oil right before turning it in. The conversation I had with the service manager was priceless...he couldn't dispute his own inspection report, so I got my refund and promised to never buy from there again.
